Exploring Maryland

Are you looking for a great place to visit that is not too far away from home? If you live in the northeast of the United States or are planning on visiting the area, the below website is a good resource for places to see and things to do in Maryland.

Outside of the two obvious places to go, Baltimore and Washington DC, there are many other things to do and see in Maryland. There are some great small towns and a marvelous coastline in Maryland.

This website also points out many other things that Maryland has to offer. Take a look at:

Las Vegas, Nevada

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”, this is the old saying anyhow. If you buy into this, you can find just about anything going on in this fast paced town. The home to more casinos then anywhere on earth is always alive and awake not matter what time it is. New York maybe the “City that never sleeps” but Vegas is the town that only blinks once in a while. Vegas has been growing for the last ten or so years so fast that you had to wait in line to buy a house or rent an apartment.

Lately, a lot of states have legalized gambling and have attracted a certain amount of people to stay home and enjoy gambling, close to home. I the next few years I can see where this trend will continue to grow in popularity because people want to be able to play a slot local with out having to fly or drive for hours just to play the nickel slots. They may get the gambling passed in these states but they will never replace the glitz and glamour that is LasVegas.

The obvious gambling issues aside, there is so much more to Vegas then just the gambling. The Shows themselves are becoming a bigger draw then the gambling, why else would a gambling hotel invest $40 million dollars into building a theater for a show that only lasts 90 minutes? Of course there are many other reasons to go, the roller coaster at New York New York, the aquarium at the Mandalay Bay, the tigers at the Monte Carlo, and so and so on. While they may be building gambling casinos all over the place, they will find it very difficult, if not impossible, to replace LasVegas.

Nevada Road Trips

This article gives us some great insights to some of Nevada’s best scenic areas. It also shows us that Nevada is not always about Las Vegas, and there are many other areas in the state that are worthy of our attention. The article points to areas that one can get to pretty easy and can be very rewarding in their own right.

As with anything, taking a trip to this part of the country takes planning, and this article is a good starting point. It gives some directions and tells what may be seen in certain areas.

So check out this web site and this article to get started.

Washington D.C. Our Nations Capitol

If you are in a history mood or just want to show the kids where our nation came from, this is the place to do it. Outside of Philadelphia, PA., our nations first national Capitol., Washington D.C. has the most comprehensive history of our nation and the most landmarks and museums that tell the story of our young nation. Although the national Capitol moved around a bit, in 1790 congress passed the Residence Act, which established the place to build the future Capitol along the Potomac River.

This city of Monuments has more of them per capita then any other city in the United States. As it should be, these represent some of our histories best people, and the history of our country. There are more places to visit, learn from, and meditate in front of then you could do in a lifetime. The public buildings alone would take weeks to go through, let alone the museums and the outdoor spaces.

Not if, but when you go, be sure to plan your trip well ahead so you can cover what is most important to you. You can go back time again to this place and find new things being built and new places to see on a constant basis. Everyone should go at least once to walk with our forefathers and “Feel” the nation’s origins. The National Mall has seen so many events that helped shape our nation and still does to this day, it would be a shame not to sit on the grass and imagine yourself at one of these events.

Washington D.C. a Great Place to Visit

The article on the below website on Washington D.C. is good. It points out a lot of what makes Washington D.C. our nations Capitol and some of the sites to see while there. It does leave out a lot of other places in Washington D.C. that I have been to and enjoyed greatly, so I think this article only skims the surface of the attractions in this city of monuments.

It does point out what the author thought was the best sites to see and goes on to describe them but he stops way to short of pointing out the other great areas of the city, which could probably go on for a very long list. Take a look at the article on the web site below and then come back and look at my article on this subject.
